Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve is the time for letting go,
Of every trouble, every woe,
That has distraught us in the year.
Look on the star, they'll disappear.

Even those of us with brand new grief
Will gaze on it and find relief.
God made the extreme sacrifice,
For our redemption, paid the price.

He sent his own sweet baby Son,
Which you and I could not have done,
Into this wicked, unkind place.
Imagine a Babe, such task to face.

The Angels told, that Christmas Morn
That our dear Savior had been born.
Two thousand years ago 'twas new.
Today the message is still true.

With seeking hearts you'll find the star
And hear the lessons from afar.
The angels tell in happy chorus
That God sent his dear son for us.

If we but listen to their words,
The sweetest message ever heard
And in our minds and hearts believe
We'll find pure joy this Christmas Eve.

Joyce, you are right on target here. Christmas is a time for "letting go" of past troubles and raising our voices in joyous celebration. I wish the humanity that seems so prevalent over the holiday could last all year long. I hope you have wonderful holidays this year! Love, Carolyn
