CHRISTMAS EVE
I’ll always remember that Christmas Eve;
That magical evening when first we met.
The picture’s so vivid, I can’t believe
It was thirty-five years ago and yet
It’s like yesterday I first saw your face
As we sang our carols around the town.
You in the alto line, me in the bass,
Till you slipped on the ice and tumbled down.
You fell at my feet and into my life.
I looked down into eyes of sparkling blue
And knew in an instant you’d be my wife.
You fell at my feet and I fell for you.
Now all these years on, when the carols start,
I recall that night when you stole my heart
