CHRISTMAS EVE

I’ll always remember that Christmas Eve; That magical evening when first we met. The picture’s so vivid, I can’t believe It was thirty-five years ago and yet It’s like yesterday I first saw your face As we sang our carols around the town. You in the alto line, me in the bass, Till you slipped on the ice and tumbled down. You fell at my feet and into my life. I looked down into eyes of sparkling blue And knew in an instant you’d be my wife. You fell at my feet and I fell for you. Now all these years on, when the carols start, I recall that night when you stole my heart
