Christmas Child
"Christmas Child"
She holds his feet
in her hands
little feet,
warm, kicking
he smiles.
His feet
kick small drum beats
on her palms
she kisses his crown
strokes his side
with her fingers
and all the while
she marvels at this
little miracle child
he is only hers for a
short while;
such dreams
she has for him
but he will walk
his own life
every
single
mile.
