In remembrance of my late bestfriend, that resides now in the highest garden of the almighty.

sometimes i fear time will veil the memories of us, so I write about us...

the ivory sun
is
the
harbinger of rain and tears,
awakening the sleeping
streaks of gold and sage,
to rise and rage
in sakura s i l e n c e,
as the sound of
d r i z z l i n g diamonds
reminds me to reminisce,
how you and I
danced to the
blissful beats
of electro-pop,
oblivious to the
fluorescent fogs
blinding the morning
stars,
singing in
contrasting cadence,
the chorus
of youth,
where innocence
plays hide and seek
with the demons
hiding in the corners
of fragile conscience.

sometimes
I fear the seconds,
crawling in slow motion,
too afraid to let go
of the grief
nestling
in my heart
as a poetic memento
of how I’ve
known the synonyms
of trust
and tranquility,
amidst the childhood tremors
that tangled
my inner peace
into knots of
dreariness.

tonight I rejoice~
raising a
rose-tinted glass
      of
moonbeams
to celebrate
another sunflower dawn,
adorned with
mellifluous memoirs
of us,
a friendship
woven into
the spine of
galactic supernovae,
where your
laughter reverberates
across the sizzling skyline,
like music
to the wind and waves
of angels,
residing
with hyacinth halcyons,
engrossed
in the picturesque
presence of
your
pristine utopia,
where love still flows
like a river untouched
by the seasonal storms.

so, in this
w o r l d of woes and throes,
let me be
an echo
of your ink and blood,
for I still
breathe the petrichor,
petals of p e a c e
thriving
in the
meadows of mourning,
as your tender name
is the
crystalline cue
urging my muse
to
praise the
mystical musk
of graceful magnolia
that lingers
in
starry stillness...

Grief is one thing that grips us strongly. we are left with questions unanswered and feelings lingering. The people we love become a stranger thought and we are bound to stick to photographs and memories, hoping they don't fade while we try to live for two. Because in the end they wouldn't want us to be on pause mourning them but I'm certain they pray we do not forget them. "raising a rose-tinted glass of moonbeams to celebrate another sunflower dawn, adorned with mellifluous memoirs of us.

IE, you clearly show the fondness you have for your friend. While the sadness cannot go away, you do provide a celebration of your time together and that gives me a tearful smile. It's always a pleasure to read something like this about someone who brought joy to your life. Really something wonderful to share.

I can relate to this poem as I lost my sweet, dearest wife. Death is not final as I believe it is a passage from one side to another. Still your poem is a fine tribute to a lost friend, written in your fine style.

This is more than beautiful.... Simply lovely. I can sense the depth of adoration you still keep for your late friend who has been once the be all and end all of your life. I can sense the surging emotions of pining in your heart "where love still flows like a river untouched by the seasonal storms." The deep ache you feel in your heart as he is away on another plane beyond your reach is deeply felt all through your poem. Into your "sakura silence", his memories come as "the sound of drizzling diamonds". I sup on the sweetness of your honeyed phrases and metaphors, dear talented friend. Into my FAVE.

I have heard stories about your friend and we never really get over those we have lost at a young age.. They say we never get friends like we did in childhood... Love how you opened with ivory sun, great imagery from the start, showing a fragile frame of mind.. Your whole poem is a vivid reflection on memory, loss, and the passage of time and something, I believe many will relate to.. as always your words and metaphor are poignant and beautifully crafted exploring loss and grief..

I have lost my mom and dad, four grandparents, great aunts and uncles, friends, teachers and more. I wish I could pay tribute to them as you have with your loving friend you lost. Time goes on and we are all eventually captured by the daunting end. I love your poetry. You have such a warm heart.

Dearest Ink, Your poetry is an outstanding tribute that explores the delicate interplay of memory, loss, and triumph within friendship and love. It centers on prior sensations of joy and rapport, comparing them with feelings of loss and grief. Your artwork creates a sense of nostalgia, reflecting the appeal of memory while admitting the agony of loss. The topic also includes parts of nature, mental anguish, and the eternal links of bonding, implying that love and connection may bring comfort even in the face of sadness. The poem is full of vivid imagery, using sensory details to elicit emotions and create a powerful visual scene. Phrases such as "drizzling diamonds," "rose-tinted glass," and "sakura silence" evoke the reader's senses. With my warmest wishes, I give you hugs and light.
