Choosy Heroes

Brace for all that comes
 With Imperial boastful pride
Spite the lies and accept the cries
 Forgotten children in poorer nations
left for dead as we "save" the chosen
scenarios more profitably woven

Choosy heroes throwing weight
 force-feeding our great....
Creating damsels to save
  Claiming ourselves brave
And our most torrid lover makes it's work force slave?
A billion strong, making our beloved electronics
Finding no fault in their volatile faultline tectonics
Seeing no harm in rulers souls black like onyx

Wittling a public into compliant sculptures
cloaking intentions to rob earths flesh like vultures
The true crime is using our patriotism as a weapon
misleading true hearts with purposeful deception
A country full of wonderful people
Unaware of the greed driven evil

"The true crime is using our patriotism as a weapon." This rings very loudly because so many have become victims because they questioned the government and their true intentions. Hopefully, the new regime doesn't continue this horrible trend. This piece is dead on and golden! Great! ~Des Juan

I concur with the comments below Steve, well written, truthfully told. Change is needed - will it happen? James..

Indeed, "The true crime is using our patriotism as a weapon." We, as a nation, may talk the talk, but we don't always walk the walk, do we? What an outstanding reflection on the injustices "A country full of wonderful people" allow to continue. EXCELLENT!!

Righteous indignation, Steve! Supberb and complex rhymes and schemes, my friend. You've highlighted the mechanations in bold: when good people do nothing, evil truly conquers. Bold write! Warm regards, John.
