Choices

One's anger has my soul writhing in pain.
The other does not, will not trust my love.
I'd give my life to end the toxic rain.
Will the forgiveness be what I've dreamt of?

I had no idea it was possible,
But I am finally letting him go.
This new love I feel is unstoppable.
Can he accept love that can only grow?

To cause him pain would mean my own demise.
If I should walk away, would he follow?
Could I convince him of love he denies?
Does he suspect my truth to be hollow?

I know that my heart will never waver.
If he turns away my dream could shatter.
If love's not accepted, truth I'll savor.
Doubting me would make nothing else matter.

Is there anything left for me to lose,
When between the two I'm forced to choose?
