Choice Words
Choice Words
A woman's place was always in the home
To stand beside her man and disappear
To pride herself in matters of his worth
And never talk about her dreams and fears.
No education needed for this task
To keep his house and propagate his seeds.
Our worth was ranked by his prosperity.
Silently we surrendered our own needs.
Equality weighed heavy on our hearts.
We fought for many years for parity.
At last we proved we’re equal to a man,
Except for our superiority!
History will show that we prevailed.
Giving us a choice was where he failed.
