Children Sit Down

Children sit down to eat food at home
A strong suggestion that no one uses their phone.
No ipads no vines as they pass the time
Let's talk and laugh to know they are fine.
One kick hear one kick there
You pass the carrots with a smiling stare.
They speak of days they play with friends
Actions and adventures playfulness sends.
The deep devotion you show your kids
Is of utmost importance and first on your list.
They slip away into rooms they sleep
To have conversations that can be deep.
Just hope they're safe and know your there
For the times they will need to know you really care.

So sad when electronic devices are used as babysitters. I think that phones should be banned at mealtimes for adults and children alike.

Great piece, real for many families. I sat yesterday at a restaurant with my family (7 of us) and the three year old who can be a problem when he's distracted sat perfectly still but with a cell-phone in front of him. I hate it, yet I love the piece and quiet. It is a sacrifice we may regret. Thanks for sharing. At home, he is not allowed to use digital devices at the table.

Thank you very very much, Although i dont have kids my friends do and i see it lots when im out eating too. I do understand it keeps them busy and gives parents a break but like you say, is the sacrifice something parents will regret as they get older. But i guess today is a very digital work, and i dont like to judge others. Thanks again and take care.
