Children

O sweet children!
One talking to her,
And the other, trying,to me.
Is candy going to excite you?
If so, I'll bring the entire store here.
But please ! Don't strip me of my chance .

One friend had grown a moustache,
The other I had met after ages ;
I'm sorry I didn't notice you ;
But how is it any different ?

I saw you twice, a while ago ,
Half our age each time .
But I'm sure it was you
Or is it just what I want ?

Love poetry that time-shifts and speaks from alternative ages. Well done!
