Child of the Christmas Night
This is the time of the first sunrise
When light self-born came as a helpless babe
With hands to wipe away Mary’s tears
And to wipe away seas of rulers and kings
Eyes to finally see Mary’s smile
The guiding star glittering in his eyes
A mouth to barely speak to Mary’s soul
And to declare three words to change the world’s soul
Small feet to waddle to Mary’s arms
And to walk on waters that shake and quake
A face to smile at the shepherds and beasts
And a face to unveil heaven’s fullness
Delicate ears to hear three kings praise him
To hear aeons praise him on the third day
A body to be covered with straw
And to be clothed with scars on a lonely tree
