Child In Nightgown

I asked the mirror
Why I was born.
It told me twice
That I was blessed
To have lived life,
To smile at the sky,
To feel the warmth
Of sunshine,
To scamper
Across the meadow,
To laugh, to love,
To simply breathe.
It later said that
Some people
Do not see
The beauty of life.
Do not be this child
Who never took time
To celebrate life.
I frowned
And went away.
