Chicago School Shutdown

In the once-great City of Chicago
  all the public schools are shut down
Teachers threatened to strike
  Parents had nervous breakdowns

So there's on-line instruction 
  up to seven hours a day
Does that sound reasonable
  Psychologists say no way...

Meanwhile, Jewish schools are open
  All the kids attend, and they're stoked
to prove that public schoolteachers' bravado
  ~ is no more than a bona-fide hoax

The CTU is all about protecting its members and their bloated compensation plan, no matter how or what it may expose the students to. Here's to charter schools. If permitted to grow and develop, they'd put the CTU and CPS out of business, and maybe kids now attending failing schools could have a shot at success... This is a dream, of course, in a one-party dictatorship of a town where the choice for mayor is between Toni Taxwinkle and Lori Leadfoot. ... If I weren't an Orthodox Jew, I'd be out of here in a heartbeat... :) gw

The students in our area were given the choice to attend classes or to attend online, doubling the work of the already beleaguered teachers.
