Cheshire Cat : Part One
His head bald, smile a Cheshire Cat
cook his daytime occupation in a
Buddhist monastery, as Muslim
traditional with red fez cocking
fake was his hake
since only veggies allowed here
teeth gleaming meditation with
musoleum to weekend rake
alongside a Zimbabwean lake
curried sugar beans his fame
and best game
all called him Genius
since an answer to every
problem up his overcoat sleeve
he could breeze, smiling at ease
found a chubby cheery teacher
with leather satchel, poems and all
quite a Cherry, they had many balls
soon Genius Junior was on the way
very g•y, they say in soft hay
they posted pics with hics
of a life full of chicks
his ardent desire was to visit
the Kabbah, learning Kabbalah
Lo and Behold ! the monastery
held them both fat since it
provided their flat
she taught sonnets, he chanted
on Quranic mat, meditated on
Buddhist cushion wearing
Jewish hat with Celtic Cross
as if all were going out of fashion
dhal and tossed tomato relish
another best meal freshly served
alongside dill in prayerful verve
soon he grew in spiritual pow-wow
she in Shakespeare know-woes
two dancing a duel now bow cow
sowing backyard mielies for dough
he in emptiness she in form
juniors in both as is norm
a right ruby singing ring tring
he saved many dollars
with his Cheshire smile
hens laying eggs across
backyard mile, holler they
sometimes could when off
monastery hook, never
forsaking geniuses’ juniors
who very quickly became been
there, done that, snazzy Cats !
Dadda’s no bat ~ oh ! boys be joys
then came the day to hop off to
Mecca in silver jet with rat pack set
Cherry was left with chickens
and poem collections to keep
her hot, steady and ready
she was unsure whether
to sit on cushion to meditate
roll out mosque mat or
decipher his Kabbalah
scribbabaloos ~ decided it best
to stick to Poe and not make
any new friends or foes
monks at the monastery were
not so pleased missing his
chocolate mousse feasts
nothing could they do but
cook their own stew and brew
own ginger beer much to
Buddha’s cheer ….
imams at the musoleum
had to clean own backyard
very tardy they were at this
nevertheless burnt rose incense
to keep full moon in chanting bliss
this epic to be continued as
Genius and Cherry’s life
bring on bling dings ….so merry
we will wait and see !
Part 2 still being jived lived
