Notes About The Poem

Prompted by the increasing number of stories in the UK press ... the latest attack was on a scooter delivery driver who has been blinded and is fighting for his life ... the attacker has been arrested and is aged just 14, they are still searching for 2 other people who were involved. thanks to hubby for the title which inspired me to write the poem.

Chemical Weapons - Emotive Write

corrosive acid
is sprayed in a strangers face...
he won't see again

I dislike Hate. You hit the nail on the head with this Senryu. Your loving friend forever.( Sorry I have not been around enough loosing my Mother has been paralyzing. Most days it is difficult to move. I will be fine but I have to go through the process. I had the perfect mom. ) Fav!

Such a sad incident. Sad for the victim and the child who perpetrated such a horrible act.

They've now arrested 2 teenagers Richard, I've just looked on the web and there is no update on the condition of the poor victim:-( hugs jan xx

It is so sad someone going about their daily life trying to earn a living is targeted in such a way - thankfully the good in society outweigh the bad but this was a despicable act on an innocent man :-( hugs jan xx

This is such a sad occurrence my friend! I hate that this had happened, it is a devastating thing! I too know what acid will do to a person,, I was a Chemist at one point in my life (Yes I almost have a Chemistry degree) and I used strong acids, and I've seen first hand what it will do to a person if you are not careful with it...you must respect acids and bases or they will hurt you...badly as this poor man now knows! I thought your Senryu on this subject was excellently done! Great Work!!

sadly Russell from what I have read in the press he's in a critical condition - the perpetrators of this act should get locked up and the key thrown away:-( hugs jan xx

It's so horrible what is happening in the world. Well done, Jan. I wish I could stay here and see more of your poetry. Joe is on his way home and I promised tonight we would have burgers from PUrple Turtle. haha. Gotta get going and I really wanted to finally catch up here tonight!!

It is horrendous to read these of these crimes and to think they have arrested a 14 yr old and a 16 yr old is so awful. Purple turtle - you need to write a poem about that lol:-) hugs jan xx

What's wrong with people---In the US recently a 32 year old family man was heading home from work when a 20 pound rock was thrown off an over pass by a 17 yr old boy---penetrating the windshield and killing him. simply insane V6D

It beggars belief that people can act like this and to think it was a child who was involved is even more heartbreaking. what a heinous crime to an innocent person who was going about their job as a delivery driver and whose life is ruined if he survives this ordeal:-( hugs jan xx
