Cheerful Dawn

Dawn, I met a few minutes ago,

Anxious was she into the light, the world to bathe, 

So we humans have another day to enjoy.


"Tell me, oh glorious Dawn,

how do you manage to be so cheerful each morning, 

when Man's crimes against other men and against

nature you witness every day?" I asked.


Smiling she looked at me and so replied:


"My mission is not to judge anyone or anything

but only the night's darkness to chase away!"
