Chatter

I’ll cut this heart right from my chest To stop its pitter patter, And give my waking mind a rest From the endless chatter. I’ll tear it from this living mass Of a crudely built design And bury it beneath the grass So that the worms may dine. I’ll walk away and leave it there; Out of sight and out of mind To halt its ghastly love affair For which it was designed.

Nice rhymes, slightly gruesome intentions, but I can handle that, thought you were getting away from chattter, not hiding from love, maybe I missed something

Well you just said it right there. The "chatter" or "endless pitter patter" is love and the act of cutting it out and burying it is to escape that feeling. It's not so much about hiding as it is about escaping a feeling that is already so ever present in one's life that the person feels like all they hear is that echoing overwhelming heart beat.
