Notes About The Poem

Chateau

Let my embattled heart
take refuge
within your fortress walls.
Give it the chance to mellow
in a slow healing process,
shedding the insipid taste
of bitter experiences,
then, let it learn to love again.

Definitely a heart needs to heal, a person needs to learn about them and make necessary adjustments to become all they can be before getting in a relationship. A person has to become the right person before looking for the right person. Enjoyed reading your work. Sara

Your poem has shades of the King Ludwig's life when reading about his melancholia and his magnificent Neuschwanstein Castle. It is my idea of a fairy tale castle Paul. I adored everything about it, tucked away upon a Bavarian hilltop, it was simply breathtaking. Your poem though brief, leaves a lot of thought to ponder. Lovely! Connie
