Chasing the Sun
Whilst the world took no notice, we paddled our feet
Down by shores edge, where the brine’s bittersweet
Bubbles lap around, and sand displaces underneath
Latency fills the air, seagulls squawk, fight, and eat
Still the world takes no notice, not even a tiny peep
Perhaps it’s gone away, yeah, probably fell asleep
Our past for the moment, melts deeper into the deep
Strolling along together, where time seems to creep
Indeed the world takes no notice, not even a yawn
We’re two grains of dust, on the infinite cosmic lawn
Lost in a strange moment, way past our life’s dawn
Moving through the void, all too soon to be withdrawn
As the world takes no notice, we take our chance to run
For if we move fast enough, might catch up with the sun,
Prevent it from setting, then tomorrow will never come
Least if we die trying, this last day will be endless fun
