Chasing Mango Trees

fruits like lights
enticing
moths to the flame

tired of chasing
them away

child of the streets
why do you roam
chasing mango trees

where is your home?

Very interesting perspective... sadly, there are plenty of abandoned children all over the world. Uniquely written.

Profound and thought provoking.. Some of them might say it is better on the streets than at home Nikko.. Hope your weekend will be blessed one ;-) Wilma

I agree with Dr. Ram, this is very meaningful. Seeming to be about moths but just those poor children of the streets. VERY nice, Nikko, and I am happy you liked my apt. poem. Kind of off the beaten track for me, writing that way. Luv, Andrea

A thought-provoking and heartfelt poem, Nikko. Children of the streets are often left on their own to pursue their dreams. You always do well with metaphors and imagery. Blessings and love, Carolyn

Very profound and deep in its meaning, not really about the mango trees, is it?

A vivid picture in words my sweet friend Nikko.. reminding us all to be grateful for our own shelters .. and simply put relating to the trees and flame.. enjoyed on this holiday weekend with luv..
