Notes About The Poem

Late for the contest~

Chaos In Her Heart

If love is...
feeling unloved,
anxious and starved,
give my regards
Does the torment of love's hate
eliminate pain?
If love is trembling lips
and sultry eyes, upon them
everlasting cries,
Charcoal tears that pour
What answers are there
for these unwanted sores?
Binding spells of
the unforgiving way swells
She the accuser shames
with her bitter blame
Aging with, until the bitter end
Accusing of his unrequited love
Awaits for his apologies
with a scorn, torn in self-pity
Nothing gained, nothing learned
Yearn, yearn, yearn
Self-loathing is apparent
Possibly inherent
Therefore, never really knowing
love and its understanding
and had mistaken it
enamored in its--lustful cradle
When the soul still yearns,
The chaos in her heart burns,
lonely is desire

Anaya, your poetry is amazing. It tackles the variety and sorrows of love, mainly illicit affection and the inner anguish it causes. The issue also delves into sentiments of desire, self-loathing, and the distinction between love and lust. The poem explores the agony of desire, the bitterness of blame, and the want for empathy and connection that stays unmet.

Dear Anaya this is so heartfelt, and full of truthful emotions that are felt when love or intimacy gone wrong. You bring out in your words emotional scars that sometimes linger in one's soul after feeling sometimes taken advantage of. Learning to love again and to trust is so much harder after a sorrowful experience. I can resonate with your words Anaya. This world can be cruel to those that have a gentle caring soul... I really have to favor your words of deep truth and emotion. A favorite...

Michael, if love is feeling unloved, then we must research into our hearts for the answers. Therapy, yes, it takes half the length of the relationship to heal the hurt, but there is more...self-improvement is crucial. TY for your fave and kind words and visit! ~

You make a cogent point about love as being unloved--SO many love songs concern not being loved or the pain involved in love--those sentiments seem to resonate more than the groundedness and serenity of love eternal. Maybe true love simply bores some people. Seems that way sometimes, they prefer the melodrama. Your words are food for much thought! Well done! Robert

Many broken-hearted and for so many reasons. The quotes: 'Hell has no fury for the woman scorned' & 'Hell hath no fury like the one who manipulated the scorning especially when they're made to face up to their actions' not to go off track but the blaming is the spreading of hate, I choose not to be manipulated and to teach what love is ~ I'll find the ways of the love gurus and post them. Robert Always Ty for your kind and sage words ~

Dear Anaya, such soulful, powerful, beautiful, romantic anguish spills from your yearning golden quill. I can taste the emotions of the bitter words and feel the turmoil of unrequited love entwined with lust that resides with chaos in the speaker's heart. Poignant and exquisite use of imagery, subtle rhymes and conflicting emotions. Indeed, "lonely is desire" when desire is yours alone. Brilliant poetry my creative poet friend. Warmest wishes.. ~Susan

Susan, ty poetess and warrioress. I'm yearning yes for the words to give to women who do not yet have the understanding of what love is, to a woman scorned by lovers, in the realm of void leaving only chaos in her heart, stirring storms inside. There are answers, woman to woman we can be the warrioress' with self-esteem one can learn how to love. ~ warm wishes back to you!

Anaya, this reminds me of times when I felt love was owed to me and/or based on lust. That didn't work out very well. Now I understand that any love received is quite a gift to be savored. I find the more I give, the more I get. It just works out that way. Giving it is also a lot of fun...a pleasure really. It's all hard to understand for some reason, and I feel for people who suffer in this regard. It's the subject of many poems and seems to be an issue for so many of us. Your poem enlightens.

Duke, thanks for reading my poems, I too have learned, we are lucky, and we can let the generations know what true love requires, compassion, what's in common, work! I say generations because many women take their love/hate to their grave, blaming for the love that was not returned. Above i've posted the "I Choose" verse and it is meant for the young woman who shan't make the mistakes we have. ~ TY

Wow! I love the snappy and fast lines. It really helps convey the feeling of being lost, disorganized, and unsure. The first six lines hit me like a truck. The way you question standards and display emotions is powerful. Great read! xxx

Delighted! This is direct minus the flowery. A warrioress strong, with self love will be protected from symptoms as these and shall understand true love's meaning. I jotted this down in about 10 minutes, for the contest, ill go over it, soon. Ty for reading, Reya ~ xhugs

Paige, it's a fine line between the love/hate of an unrequited love, a prevention is self love realization, minus the pining and pangs and moving forward to a true love. Ty for reading! ~xhugs
