Changing Seas
Oh lush kelp forests, tell me where you've gone
your flowing rows of beauty swept away
like changing tides, warm seas have moved you on
to cooler shores, no longer here to stay
while those you leave behind grieve you this day.
The changing climate claims its greedy grip
as schools of fish move through an old ghost ship
'neath barren reefs, so naked and so stark
once dancing seaweeds swayed in rising riffs
now solemn stillness bares pollution's mark.
