Emotional depression had set in; A world of calamity that grew dark. The mystical light was stifling, nights stark, Blessings of peace in a bottle of gin. Dark wisp of wrath kindled a plea to flee. Extinction of self as he walked with pride Through vast ocean tides, I became a bride. Lull dream, a perfect soul-mate weaved forth, free. Neath the still lingering velvet twilight Holding a portrait of the two of us. My mournful mind wanders without a fuss. Sweet scent of love, my memories I write. Quiet and peaceful with poetic love, Tearful grief embraces you from above. 10/22/2023

This IS one of your most creative ever, Eve! I found it unmistakably powerful and at the same time, soulful! I don’t write sonnets because I do not understand how to write in metrical form. Sure I can rhyme, but no way in meter A fave. Love, Pangie

Your poem deeply touched me, Eve. The line 'holding a portrait of the two of us' pulled on my heartstrings. I can feel your grief over your. My heart goes out to you. The last line 'tearful grief embraces you from above' was poignant! A beautiful write. Enjoy your Sunday, Sara

This made me tear up, its never easy when one is mourning and memories keep crawling back in, and sometimes we want those memories to be close within us, as thats the only way we feel close to what we’ve shared with our loved ones, as for here i think you speak about your beloved? Poetry is solace and can give one comfort through it all. “ Holding a portrait of the two of us. My mournful mind wanders without a fuss. Sweet scent of love”those lines speaks volumes! Sending you light always
