Changes
Time flows,
from millisecond
to second,
from minute
to hour,
from day
to year.
There's
no stopping Time,
it runs
along side of us,
when we're awake
or sleeping,
in parallel,
it moves constantly.
We can
waste time or use it.
Changes occur
each and every moment.
Some we accept
and are ready for,
others, we detest
and barely survive.
They all
bring a price,
these Changes.
There's nowhere
to run, to hide
as they always find us,
and force us to pay,
pay whatever price they charge.
Oh how I wish
I had a crystal ball
which told me ahead of time
what Changes are coming,
when to expect them,
how to deal with them
and their cost
in terms
of blood, sweat and tears.
Some Changes
are for the better,
bringing with them
strength, joy and love.
Others take things away
and for those,
I need to know how to cope
with whatever has been lost.
How do any of us
go onward
into tomorrow,
how do we keep living successfully
in the face of continual Changes?
A question for the Ages,
a quandary for my simple mind.
Perhaps I wouldn't have
stayed sane
if I had known beforehand
the what, where, when, why and how
of all the Changes
interwoven
throughout my life.
Time
flowing,
from millisecond
to second,
from minute
to hour,
from day
to year...
continuously
along with
all of Life's
Changes.
