Change Will Come
Rain dripping on the window
Sunshine shortly follows
Too much beauty in this world
That isn't meant for us
Fighting, killing, spilling blood
All for nothing
Blood pouring like a flood
Erupting innocence on youth
Strange as it may seem
We all are to blame
Just looking past it all
Nothing to be done
or so we seem to think
Not wanting to be apart
Just sitting in the dark
Waiting for the chosen one
On our knees we pray each night
By dawn we awake
Forgetting what we had asked
Foolishly we dig the graves
of our children or there's
to walk the land of ours
This room shall shine with gladness
with arms wide open wild and free
Tis the dawning of a new day
Flowers growing where we touch
Living for the beauty inside
Shall remain for all to see
Rapidly it's becoming more
Harder to look past it all
Closing your eyes won't take it away
The screams you'll still hear
and it will follow wherever you go
