Change of Season, Change of Heart

T'was the autumn of his life, It had not been easy for it had contained much strife. Now that the light was growing more dim, He realized that without much change his eternal future looked quite dim. It wasn't that he did not believe, it just had not fit in with the life he had led, Looking back, he wished he had made those better choices than the ones he made instead. But time has a way of slowing us down so certain things more clearly we see. Like how unimportant our priorities are when we humble ourselves in prayer on bended knees. We are but servants to a just and mighty God who only wants to give the best to all of us, But there are too many who serve the wrong one, the one who likes to see us fuss. He leads us to believe we can do anything we choose, ( this counterfeit god ), but in the end he knows it is our soul we stand to lose. He said with time on my hands, Lord, I've read your Word and understand, How foolish and wrong we all are when we don't follow what you command! And like children, this, when we obey, we in turn show our love for you, And when we are disobedient, we offend you in all we do! So Lord what days I have left, I will do my best to serve just you, And follow your word so pure and true. And when my course is run, and on that final judgment day, I hope to hear “enter in” are the two words I hope to hear you say.

Another beautiful poem, Ron. No matter how hard we try we sometimes stray. All we can pray for is we did not miss lead others. An try to make amends as best we can. God Bless, Cile
