Champion's Chomp

A Champion must lust for that ancient adrenaline the primal prize alive in the eyes, trophy of thunder in the pulse, a Champion's heart welcomes adversity with teeth gleaming sharply, worships the battlefield with risk righteous in ripped tradition, doesn't celebrate the strikes that knock the foe into awe finds glory in striving for the impossible creates Legend from the unthinkable become visible, buries the adversary's soul in the winter of forever woe, the Champion says with disciplined effort and presence pure in practice, lightning is comin for you, blasting your bones, bashing your boasts tear you up and down and all around your dreams nor dare, will not be found, The Champion must adore the trauma of training, remembers the humility of a Beginer's trouncing, must pray with innocent instinct, thank Providence with confident conviction, makin bravery out of bruises and being headstrong amidst hecklers, invents technique like a Freeborn freak, they shame the opposition into reverence with indisputable excellence, true Champions are unforgettable, architects of shock and hope irrevocable, indestructable like a titanium pyramid, To be a Champion is to have a demolishing drive, they must excel when underestimated and must dominate when expected to succeed, the Champion's Faith devours fear and punishes pretenders, to finish the foe with decisive declaration, " Check Mate! " a Champion always defies, and never dies, there is no calculation of defeat for an Angel following a Divine beat - J.A.B.

Your question is right on target Andrea! The True Champion chomps on the inherent weakness of mediocrity, the world's as well as his/her own vices and weaknesses. Champions cannot afford to be one dimensional. Happy you dig the title Poetess...J.A.B.

True Champions live on, in the hearts and imaginations of those who witness their victory over hardship and from the condemnation of the status quo Lucilla. When pain says stop they surge, when haters say doubt yourself they create legend. Your poetry and heart show you are a true Champ Lucilla! J.A.B.

Providence spurs the Will, God is the ultimate source and Blessing Olive. A Champion must take responsibility for preperation and perseverance, all Champions have experienced humility and loss, trauma and tears, but they keep the storm alive in their hearts, lightning bursting for triumph. Thanks for the love Olive...J.A.B.

We've got to trust the rhythem of our Faith and the beats of our hearts Anne. The rain can be so very cold and heavy sometimes, however, it gives our strengths oppurtunity to shine on. I will maintain the strength to smile Anne, I will my friend. J.A.B.

Justin...I just swung around to read one of your older writes when lo and behold I saw that you have a new one up. Yes, I came LOOKING for you and saw this...Not from the New Poems list! What a wonderful piece this is...to have Faith that devours Fear is sweet indeed. So many of your lines have that impact of the powerful...that is what makes you a champion in my books. Hugs

Yes Verlena, and I'm proud to know that I live through the heart of a Champion as well, thank Deity. A prerequisite of living as a Champion is overcoming self doubt, depression, discouragement, bad judgement, and loss. You can't allow anything to " take you out of your element " as is said. You've got to believe in your talent, work ethic, and blessings, and in the virtue of your heart! I'm deeply honored by your compliments because you excel at critical thinking.J.B.

Brilliant poem!!! It makes me think of the children who start life facing horrible odds; poverty, abuse, living in war torn countries and still make something good of themselves. Their very lives are "the trauma of training" They are "architects of shock and hope irrevocable" "they must excel when underestimated" Powerful and emotional lines.

The clarity of your analysis and purity of your heart makes you a very special poet and woman Monterey. Your comment beautifully emphasizes that true Champions exist in all arenas of life, not simply as " professionals " or athletes etcetera. Overcoming terrible odds, refusing to allow evil, or malvolent and disturbed people from spoiling your heart and soul. Fighting, ferociously and smartly, to defend what is Just and Good! J.A.B.

I am certainly inspired by this line as well, as it must be hard for one to take in mind in the midst of battling - A true Champion's heart "doesn't celebrate the strikes that knock the foe into awe"... That last line is reverential as well. I am really enjoying these recent poems of yours. It is nice to delve deeper into a true heart full of wisdom, strength, and control --clearly Champion-worthy`to beyond. Can't wait for your next gem. Always, Laura

Laura, I cherish the embrace of your soul. Your camaraderie solidifies my resolve. You are inspirational, a beautiful fighter! I got a rush when writing the the line, " Creates Legend from the unthinkable become visible..." ironically, this outcome of a Champion is what often attracts haters and the envious to attack mavrricks and Champions, but Champions must persevere with the blessings of Providence.

Nice one yet again my friend. I love these lines: "true Champions are unforgettable, architects of shock and hope irrevocable, indestructible like a titanium pyramid" Nicely written! You certainly have a way with words. You brought a true Champion's personality straight to victory. I was reminded of the game League of Legends, oddly, as I was reading. Probably because I had just got finished playing a round with a friend. I will keep this piece in mind during my battles-- and not just my gaming.

Thank you Laura. My words are the representation of my experiences, principles, inspirations, and love. The immature, envious and weak will attack with regularity in our lives, we must remain disciplined, and true. Keep lovin life and respecting foe and friend alike my lovely Laura. J.A.B.
