Challenge

Bright orb
     above
  Brave men and women
       below
   Who must fight for
      what they want
   And its beyond mere survival
When sunlight changes to
      moonlight
   the challenge is laid out
        before them
   A blood - soaked
       victory
may be the solution
     to their sorrows
Let them prepare themselves in the
                   outer chambers
So they can rejoice inside
A celestial building
      of large proportions

there is frequently a magnificent in this time period and challenge, Matt. the enthusiasm in your poem overcomes all manner of ignorance and sloppy solutions, doubt and even fear to bring success to any challenge. Any thing to pick ourself off the floor and rejoice to the thought of forever with out our stupidity. Enjoyed your poem with smiles Matthew,....p.d.

A great poem that honors the sacrifices made by the men and women who serve our country. Thanks for your comments on "Special Harvest," Matthew. I have worked with special children and they are so precious and loving. Best to you, Diane

I think the poem is a tribute to those who sacrifice themselves for the cause of their nation. If it is so, it contains a beauty of its own. And thanks for your appreciation of my Poem on Rangoli. Love and best wishes always...Ravindra..Matthew Anish.

Perhaps I didn't see the humor the others mentioned, but rather people in the military who fight for a cause and lose their lives. Indeed, heaven would be a celestial buiding of large proportions to hold the souls of all who sacrificed their lives in combat. Quite a stunning free verse, Matthew! Love, Carolyn
