Chains

The binding of the chains embraces my body
I have tried over and over to break free of most of them or still trying to
But... The chains around my ankles are making it hard for me to walk
but I still try my best
I put one foot in front of the other.
It may take me longer to get there
but I won't give up.
And slowly I get there
You can always escape those chains.
Maybe not the ones that your bound to today
Just use something else that's not
your voice
your wisdom
your words
even sewing
What ever your joy may be
If one is taken away
Don't give up just put more time and energy into something different

I've read several of your poems, April and found all of them lovely and full of emotion. I especially liked this one inspiring others to keep trying in their own way. Well done.
