Originally set to write a Mathnawi poem, inspired by theauraofrhymes , however it turned into a mathnawi sonnet, of sorts.  A mathnawi is a couplet poem with a rhyme scheme of aa,bb,cc and so on.  Normally with eleven syllables, but can be ten.  This one has eleven.

My muse keeps pestering like a cenobite, chewing my brain like a hungry parasite. Pressuring the ink to bleed like acid rain, catharsis to release perpetual pain. Hiding poems that live rent free like boarders, I'm a shadow slave refusing it's orders. This elusive euphoria sounds absurd, because I'm silent in my clandestine world. My pen has froze in this salacious summer, ignoring mental murderous moon's mummer. My faithful muse, why don't you abandon me, can't you see I have no time for poetry. I've fallen free without words, feeling too deep, please do not disturb me, I just want to sleep.

Isn't it strange how that happens? I'm trying to sleep! Truly Muse?! If I don't give in, I later wish I had. One night my notebook and pen were beside the bed so I didn't bother to get up and turn on the light. It was almost a poetic work of art (for a poet) to see in the morning! Scrawl of inspired words sliding sleepily down a notebook page, disregarding all lines or borders. I thought about naming it 'Penned in the Dark' and framing it for laughs! I relate to your poem :)

You rocked this discipline into submission, Silent One. "Oh, ok, i will have another piece of ambrosia if this pleases you."

well, your muse is certainly whimsical, annoying and precocious. Sometimes mine insists on keeping me awake at night. Does she not understand that I need sleep in order to write? No, she doesn't. She compels me to write despite slumberous evenings. Well done, Silent One...creative for sure, Sara

So annoying when that happens I stopped writing for a couple of years for lack of ideas. Still some times struggle But by what have recently been writing I am surprised you are feeling a misbehaving muse. Your recent poems have been brilliant do please keep writing Silent One you have so much still to delight us with hugs Shadow

a muse is a most precocious spirit. Seems they're taught to abandon us in time of need and ever present, annoying us when we're trying to sleep. I chucked a bit when I read this. Great flow and rhymes. Outstanding, Silent One. Have a great evening, Sara

The deep interaction with the divine, SO, resulted in tremendous gratification. However, we are merely bystanders to its capricious essence. Muses, at times, can be quite bothersome, preventing one from getting enough sleep, only to abandon them as one awakens at the first sign of daylight.

I find humor and much more, Sir Silent One. I really do like this one, all of it. A muse is a favorite subject of mine. I need to fave it and stash it in my list of treasures! Blessings ~Anaya

Muses can be quite obnoxious at times. Refusing to let you sleep but by the time you finally give in and roll out of bed, she will abandon you.

Much enjoyed the discourse of this poetic bond with muse, SO. We don't control its ways.

Ha! A pesky muse. I guess it happens. I'm back to work so probably won't be around as much. I think it's awesome you try out all these cool forms. You're an eclectic (and skilled) poet. Me? Just a simple story guy

Ah i remember how aura did inspire alot to try this form and you turning it into a sonnet of sorts which is so innovative and creative of you silent one. Just love this especially “My faithful muse, why don't you abandon me, can't you see I have no time for poetry. I've fallen free without words, feeling too deep,” how sincerely you’ve expressed there and your rhymes are so captivating and brilliant. I love the alliterations and your wordplay here is exquisite. Always a fan of your poetry. FAV

Oh yes sometimes muse gets inspired and forces our quills to bleed emotions when our hearts are actually exhausted and need rest.. A very creative poem this is, with exquisite rhymes, marvelous alliterative flow and amazing similes too! "Pressuring the ink to bleed like acid rain", "chewing my brain like a hungry parasite" A kind of frustration and complaining feelings can be felt here.. "ignoring mental murderous moon's mummer" Amazingly crafted dear Silent One, love this, it's resonating too.
