Celebrating Christmas
Christ was not born on Christmas Day.
The date was set aside by they
over whom god Mithra held sway.
They hallowed it as his birthday.
Let not dispute about the day,
Distract from Christ in any way.
That He was born, the truth is clear.
His birth we celebrate with cheer.
Divine implant in a virgin womb,
Jesus, like a lily, would soon bloom.
The Son of God, born in an inn,
to save man from the curse of sin.
An angel choir sang “Peace on earth,”
the night of Christ our Savior’s birth.
The gift of life, that in Christ dwells,
is what we Christians celebrate.
For Adam’s sin brought death to man,
but God already had a plan.
Jesus, the gulf sin caused, would span,
and purchase salvation for man.
This is what Christmas is about,
and that is a good reason to shout.
Not just on Christmas Day each year,
But each day we see the sun appear.
