Celebrating 50:Xv
This year while England keeps her diamong jubilee
Jamaica's independence grows under the monarchy
And I know that Nanny's longing to set this land free
Meant national ownership of our borowed soveriegnty
What shall I tell Juan De Bolas, or Cudjoe today
What will I to Tacky or noble Bogle dare now say
That Sam Sharpe's legacy is not understood, may
We say to Marcus, not yet uhuru, wait another day
O country men, the hour is late, let us rise up today
And sweep the debris that deluge our history away.
