Catbird Seat Ain'T All That Great

Now who sittin' in the catbird seat?
Snagglepuss with dirty feet,
think you got the system beat?
Soon you'll feel the hot sun's heat.

Been dancin' the pagan dance too long,
needle stuck on same ole song,
to find out now its all been wrong...
realize now I ain't so strong.

Man came in couldn't feel his toes,
doc had to tell him what he knows,
dog been eatin' on all of those,
that pup was hungry, I suppose.

Catbird seat ain't all that great,
ain't no closer to Heaven's gate,
life is just one lengthy wait,
with too much past to contemplate.

Okay, gross out time...we REALLY had a patient whose dog had chewed off his toes...he couldn't feel it and I guess the dog was hungry. Yuck. My job...

Fortunately for me, Ive been lucky enough to hear all about how good it is to be in the Catbird Seat, withous sitting in it myself. Very original and well written. Thank you for your comment on my stuff. Always, Will

Very good one, beautifully written with great rhythm and flow. Made me smile, yet has so much deeper underlying meaning. Very well done. Love Heidie
