Cat Bath

Whitey sitting innocently Next to the bird bath Looking so penticently You are doing the math Bathe, well this is a bath Lick, scratch first stomach Ears high turning like a rath Now repose where are the birds Do you suppose Scratch, bathe wait Repose, doze You innocently bait Just one dumb bird And the feast begins Birds are not getting the word Need an email send

I like the way the rhyme depicts the slow motion of the cat.

This gave me a good laugh, Sara! I have a neighbor whose birdbath is often being "eyed" by local cats. I'm going to be off the Soup for a while as I move, but I'm glad I had a chance to read this delightful poem! Love, Carolyn

This is very well written, it vividly captures the broken movement of a feline. You've created a true snapshot of life.
