Castaway Love

Castaway love

Slipped on the slope of mistaken disorder
Whispered my love in the palm of her hand
Watched as she waved from a ship near the border
Standing alone in a cavern of sand
Covered myself with a dune formed of sorrow
Dropped every anchor I held in the past
Counted the tides that would be my tomorrow
Took one more breath soon to become my last

Swam for a distance to uncharted places
Treading the waters of deepest despair
Wishing on stars sent to fill empty spaces
Keeping it secret for fear I might share
Drowning in seas of my heartbroken questions
Gasping for air in the night sky above
Searching for hope in amongst the suggestions
Lost in the shadows of castaway love

So sad but very well expressed, comes from a familiar but distance place inside I see, something we all unfortunately understand all too well. Great rhyming, great flow. a7 of course.

WOW!! Chris.. This is so sad as Charmaine has said below.. I have also been there. But in my case my castaway love was to be the best thing that could have happened to me. Stay strong my new friend, as they say time is a true healer of all hurting wounds. Take care and wishing you the best.

Thanks so very much my friend. It is just a poem based on some past feelings that are always hard to leave in the past, especially when writing poetry. :) I appreciate the kindness you have shown me in your wonderful comment. Thank you again for stopping by to read.

Heartwrenchingly sad...Everybody 's been there one time or another..'Lost in the shadows of castaway love'...We can be lost forever..anchored to our thoughts and yestsrdays..Or we can try to move on closer to the sun..It just takes a stronger love than the one one had...to make it possible..and time..Time is a healer.

Dear Poet Chris. Yes Poet Chris. I am serious about this. I consider myself to be a better reader than writer since I don't write traditional poetry. However I spot poetry miles away. And yes, this entry is poetry and poetry that I consider to have the total package. Theme words poeticness etc. Read back your words and you will see. It was an honor to turn to this entry. Have a wonderful afternoon and may no love be cast away. This was touching. Well done in its aligned execution.

Lisa, your comment humbles me. I just write what comes to me and hope that someone might enjoy it. I am more than thrilled you did and left such encouraging thoughts for me. I pretty much just consider myself a poetic hack but can't seem to hacking away. So once again, thank you for all of the kindness you show me.
