Carpe Diem
Hear my voice loud and clear: Carpe diem! Embrace
The day! Leave your chambers, step into the light,
The light of spring that shines on thy face,
The light extinguished by no earthly might!
Carpe diem! Embrace this day! The only day
That you will know! Leave your chairs, touch the grass,
The only grass that will grow! Smell the hay,
The hay that will feed the lowing mass.
Carpe diem! Stop your cars on the shoulder
And run into the fields with the deer and fox;
Count every chestnut, leaf, and boulder,
Away be thrown your schedules, your clocks!
Carpe diem! Embrace your day! The only day,
The waning day, in which we all shortly stay.
