Carolyn Devonshire Rip

We never met, although we planned
to make our dream come true;
the will was strong, the body weak…
and then you bid adieu
when angels came and took your hand
(I called your name in vain).
You left this vale for pastures new
where peace replaced your pain.

Carolyn passed away, but her unconditional friendship and kindness,
together with her gift of words will never be forgotten. She was one
of the first to welcome me to Soup, and we bonded from the start.
We co-wrote several poems, some of which were published in
various anthologies. She will forever hold a special place in my heart.

Great souls would carve the path they walk, would mark who they befriend, would leave their own fragrance wherever they set their spirits.. Poets would write their own legacy and ensure their immortality.. Carolyn Devonshire, may she rest in peace.. my deepest condolences to you, Paul and to all those who love and cherish her.. enough to know you, Paul to highly value and venerate her beautiful soul.. I feel your pain and loss.. Your heartfelt tribute is a solace.. you honoured her alive and now as she is in the world of the beyond.. My deepest regards and blessings. My God bestow upon you serenity and contentment.

It was with sorrow that her last email was that she was terminally ill. She will be missed by many, especially by me. May she rest in peace.

Dear Paul, your words wrap softly around me like a tender moment. Even though you never got the chance to meet Carolyn, she is with you, in your heart, and always will be. Words live on forever. This is beautiful and emotional, all at the same time. A lovely tribute. Congratulations on Poem of the Day. Hugs, Brandy
