Caribbean Flame

A tear appears in the gentle fanfare
Where the lightest of breezes dances
through the enchanting rhythmic air,
Like a rig creaking above the waves.

Our hearts floated like ships set to sail.
I heard the voice, which shared our dream,
and saw your smile ooze beneath the veil,
in the fondant whirl of love’s sweet stream.

A hush descends from the hue of space
And mute shadows waltz with the twilight
wrapped in the abyss of timeless embrace
that maneuvers the heated shapes of light.

The flame in your eyes held the silence
Which illuminated the sky in shades of fire,
Twinkling softly into humid time and space
Watching the Caribbean flame glow brighter.

For that moment, time yearns to be entwined.
Love passing through the passage of pain,
Fills the void, making the world bright again,
and a great spark ignited the Caribbean flame.

Flown into that realm of white scorching sand
Beneath the azure of heaven’s shifting expanse
Lays the flames marooned from dusk to dawn
Till twilight blends our eyes into a sleepy trance.

Sunset calling, we watch the flame falling
Night tattooed into the day an indelible mark,
We tried not to cry when the beat was retreating
But bleeding starts in the piercing heart.

And made the casting shadows shyly hung
In beckoning arm’s, the flame could not stay
While the sluggish world of symphony sung
The rhythmic beat of the sunlit sea melted away
