I really hate politics.. and I hate that I am told what I believe.. there is so much corruption in every direction. I have lost faith in the government.. completely. Despite who is in office.. I trust no one. This is a great poem, though, for someone more sure about their stance than I am. Sending hugs your way!

Hi Maureen, We have entered a period of internal conflict with our partial government shutdown. There will be large protests in the US on Saturday Oct 18th. Perhaps this will evolve into a general strike at some point. It's amazing to me how so many people here just go about their business as if nothing is going on. Almost 250 years ago many people gave up their lives to fight for a society not headed by a tyrant. I will have been at 6 protests when this week is over. At least I can smile!!

Your poem is bold and incisive, packing sharp critique into tight, rhythmic lines. The repetition of “zero” amplifies the emptiness behind the rhetoric, and the final line lands with chilling clarity. Keep writing—your voice is fierce and fearless and we surely need that today!!!

Perhaps the blinkers will finally start to fall from voter's eyes Mo , its not MAGA its what's in it for Trumpety and his cronies - he's such a narcissist - he will have loved being at Windsor with the royal family and they certainly put on a huge show for him - am sure his ballroom will be bigger than theirs! hugs jan xx
