Candy Man

Whined a perky young songstress from Miami
"I think I am deserving of that Grammy!
I do not sound especially great
But my lungs, they surely do inflate
Frankly, no one sings 'Candy Man' like Sammy."

No one should ever sing that song again if you ask me; Candy Man should be retired like a jersey.

Delightful! It made me smile...and still, I am smiling, my friend, L Milton. A very good Limerick! Blessings.

Thank you, Demetrios, I am so pleased that you enjoyed it. A good limerick should bring a smile or a chuckle from the reader. I appreciate your read and your thoughtful comment.

Hey, Jan...and if any luck, you'll be singing it all day long. In fact, you won't be able to get it out of your head! Just kiddin', friend. So pleased you enjoyed the Candy Man.

Hi L. Milton, When I read the last line of your well written Limerick , I could hear Sammy’s voice in my head, “ Who can take a sunrise (who can take a sunrise)Sprinkle it with dew (sprinkle it with dew)Cover it with chocolate and a miracle or two? The Candy Man (the Candy Man) I enjoyed the read:-) Alexis

Thanks, Alexis. Then my limerick accomplished its purpose. I'm so happy the comments have been favorable and brought a proper response.

No truer words than the last line, Milt: 'The Candy Man can!' Sammy was my favorite song-and-dance man ever. Still miss him after all these years. ~ Accepting No Substitutes!
