Candy Not Just For the Little Guys
Little girls in witches’ hats
Riding brooms and chasing bats
Little boys in gruesome gore
Running wildly door to door
A princess with some fairy wings
Pinocchio without his strings
Lady GAGA, let’s hope not
A cowboy – wooden horse in trot
Some kids in sheets or mummy wrapped
Out this night if they had napped
You greet them all with store-bought candy
When that runs out – whatever’s handy
And this goes on till by and by
The kids all have a sugar high
Then they return to mom and dad
And laugh about the fun they had
When they’re in bed and fast asleep
You see what candy they can keep
But you’ll keep out a bar or two
You hide away that’s just for you
For though you have kids of your own
There are candy bars you have not outgrown
So skip the beer and skip the wine
And rob their stash like I robbed mine
