Candle of the Night
In the depths of my solitude,
I see only two companions:
Loneliness and melancholy-
Following
Leading my life.
On the tightrope of my cloistered existence,
I felt about four pangs of grief:
Emotional, Spiritual, Physical and Psychological-
Troubling
Disturbing my peace.
On the apex of my bruised feelings,
Am faced with triple agents of man-hatred:
Envy, Jealousy and Ignorance-
Insisting
Tearing me apart.
On the peak of my sorrows,
I experienced two pangs of hurt:
Memories of disappointments and reminiscence of grief-
hurting
bruising my soul.
Ever since you came into my life,
I started feeling two unexplained warmth:
Compassion and caring disposition-
Embracing
soothing my nerves.
Now that I've found a companion,
Am yet faced with two obstacles:
Memories of my past and thoughts of my future-
Threatening
My new found peace.
But since I've found solace in the bosom of God,
I saw my most hated and dreaded enemies:
My past mistakes and sins I've committed-
Fleeing
And leaving my life.
