Cancel Culture

Cancel culture is here, with fierce debate. Where a tweet from your past can seal your fate. Some seeking forgiveness, with no chance to explain. While others are shutdown, just cast off in pain. Social media witch hunts to get people shut down. People losing employment, which I find quite profound. Banished from social circles, pushed out on their own. When something on Twitter becomes like a millstone. Some using their platform is like public shaming. Whilst others get caught up, when clearly defaming. When people are triggered with just hurty words. I'm not sure about you, but to me that's absurd. Whilst comics are shutdown for telling their jokes. When all that there aim is to get laughs and provoke. You see, jokes are like magnets, which attract and repel. Some will take a joke poorly, some will take a joke well. A joke is a joke, so if you are offended. The offence that's been caused, it wasn't intended. Just because you're offended does not mean that you're right. Offence is about feeling. Why are you feeling uptight? Understanding what's said without condemnation. With the importance of context and communication. When funny is funny it's a fabulous thing. It makes us all smile and makes your heart sing. So the moral of the story, although laughter's at risk. In moments of struggle, let's find joy, just resist! But through comedy and laughter, we can bridge that divide. So let’s talk and engage with understanding our guide.
