Canada Land of the Free

Canada land of the free, that is what my papa said to me when I was just a little girl sitting on his bouncing knee We grew up strong we group up brave we had no fear in this fertile land of love and peace no enemy to spear Then one day we apparently received an unwanted gift causing division/separation, Government subsidiary rift The world roiled forward not knowing whom to trust news, science, God, experts, Gov. it all turned to rust New laws, rules, segregation, all this didn't make any sense if we were good we'd got more freedom & some recompense if we were bad, we were called the walking zombies, really? this, from an intelligence source? an army of tough but steely? What happened to my free will and my corner store 5 cents candy? my dad was an immigrant, no book smarts but oh so very handy Today we got experts who know it all, give a s....but don't know tit is this the end of the world papa? or just the start of a new summit First it came from China, then it came from bats, I don't give a rat I just want to be free again, not know where it is nor where its at ...

I was fortunate 2 grow up on the Canadian border in upstate New York. Fun 2 go to Canada for lunch & school trips. No matter where live we r the same while so being so different. "Free again" from what? right? Things that separate us can bind us together. Heartache can be universal no matter where we live. Certain experiences can connect us, no matter how far away we are from each other. GOSH, your poem made me think and think... It was thought-provoking. I am so glad I found it.

Remember when most people smoked anywhere anytime and respiratory diseases were few because the smoke created a "layer of protection" on lungs? Today, people prefer wearing a facemask to protect their delicate lungs. Who knows what your grandchildren will choose? Aloha!

Reminds me of when I was assigned to Germany and learnt it was best to be a Catholic in Germany because they get more paid holidays than Protestants! People just don't want to be equal! Aloha!

Yes , I recall the smoking days quite well, I non smoker had to take my break chained to my desk, my co worker smoker got a 45 minute break in a cafeteria, when I asked, I was told but she smokes she need her break, I told my boss, then I'll start smoking too, lol, thanks for the visit
