Notes About The Poem

Once again I deploy self censorship, the "b" word again, which I would like to argue shouldn't be on the banned list, at least when being used for its inoffensive uses, again, a word endeared to me by my late magnificent...um female dog. It seems to have appeared in several of my poems, and I will have to find a more creative way of saying it without saying it.

Can Wit

On pondering Canadian Wit
At least to me it does seem fit
To suggest we've achieved
A splendidly Free
Market of snicker and -----

btw Can Wit a play on Can Lit (literature)

Love the wit and humor, Maureen. I hate the censorship on here, they removed one of my better poems because of one word. Expression is expression, regardless of vernacular, as long as it's not some blathering, never-ending senseless spew of hate. Rock on!

Thank you so much! I just have a couple "B" words stunting my expression lol

Your Poet's note was as charming as the poem itself, Maureen. This poem brought a smile to my face. There are ways to suggest offensive words w/o using them. Us poets/poetesses, we are the best at doing this. If you get the chance, read my poem "Route 666" and see how I did it. Anywho ... loved this slice of humor pie. Btw ... you have outstanding creative titles to your poems. Love w/no limit.

Thank you Freddie, will check it out. It just came to mind that some such words, when ill used offensive, but not profane, are much like the pit bull, through no fault of its own dangerous in the wrong hands, but laws created to prohibit, as I say "because you can't police stupid" ;) I love all your encouraging remarks xomo You are wonderful.

Smiles, and after a recent Economist article, perhaps terminal liberal smugness.
