Camping By the Lake

Dragonflies skim the lake of cedar Ripples touch the shoreline sand Kissing it or is it taste that laps at water Licking every corner of the morning glory Surely the sun will unravel all the mysteries With a warm touch to the soul of day There must be a couple inside the tent As you can hear the sighs they make Sounds of lovers either asleep or perhaps Doing romantic things beyond imagination Along the lake the butterflies arrive in time To soften up the rise of summer in full color On full display while campers find their way Under the covers inside the canvass structure No one knows exactly what is going on But something is surely happening because Heavy breathing can be heard for miles around It is certainly not the sound of sleeping Or sunbeams dancing on the lake
