Calm

End of summer sunlight
Across a cloudy sky,
The afternoon is lazy
And easy on the eye,
I lay here undecided,
Swaying in the breeze,
Delivered from impatience,
Into a growing ease,
It feels so unfamiliar,
And comes as a surprise,
The sadness of my shadow,
Abandoning her guise.

The losses are behind me,
My heart is calm, soon free.
