Calm
Following an ice cold calm night Winter sun bathes a splendid sight Icicles pirouette to ground Nature's ballet dance does astound Winter wraps herself round the scene A frosty regal beauty Queen Clothed in a fetching wintry gown Lustrous as diamonds in a crown. Robins bop along, feathers fanned Upon Earth's dazzling wonderland Squirrels gaze in awe of their play And amuse with their own display Spider webs, they simply look grand Silvery art in every strand Each web so delicately spun Enhanced by rays of wintry sun. Weeping willows elevate cheer Featuring crystal chandelier Serene majestic wizardry A finer sight there'll rarely be Observers feeling truly calmed By the magic of wintry charms Savour these sights ere the Earth's thaw Before Spring has the world in awe.

Hi brother John, the contest hasn’t been judged yet, but on here all poets and poems are winners… Belle

Why don’t poets hear what you said? I mean you made it clear that ALAN is more important than a trophy! Poets ignore that? Boo and tacky on them! The same ones in other posts, They are here for prizes and followers. It makes me sick. Belle is more important. LOOK AT THE DEAF COMMENTS. An unfeeling poet is not a poet. Racehorse followers. Shameful. Sorry, Belle, Pangie

I hear what you say Pangje, I enter contests just because it keeps the muse going, also I find writing poetry good therapy, win or lose it doesn’t matter at all… Belle

With this most beautiful Winter scene, you have provoked our minds and hearts, allowing us to see into this magical fairy like picture, which incidentally I forevever remember, especially as in South Africa, it only snows on the mountains, strangely and co-incidentally we have booked for July this year to go to the Drakensberg Mountains which is our Mid winter. Be safe and well my friend and may 2022 be a year filled with joy. Love and Hugs Jennifer.

Hi Jennifer dear friend, thank you I’m really grateful for your kind review. That’s a lovely holiday you’ve booked, something to look forward too. I hope we get a holiday in the summer and that my husband gets well enough to do so. Love and hugs in return… Belle

Thank you so much Connie, very appreciated. My husband is a lot better, hasn’t come home yet, we have to wait for a care package to be arranged. I’m going to ask after the weekend if he can come home without carers coming in, he needs to be at home with me. Blessings to you too… Belle
