Calla Lilies

my morning coffee
while soaking up the sunshine
the Calla Lilies
are a balm to my senses
I breathe in their rich fragrance

You've conjured a great memory of one of my favorite actresses: “The calla lilies are in bloom again. Such a strange flower – suitable to any occasion. I carried them on my wedding day, and now I place them here in memory of something that has died.” — Katharine Hepburn Your poem, beautifully done.

yes, beautiful indeed. I once misread the name as Callas (and only bought the lilies as I thought they were named after Maria Callas, lol). Lovely tanka, Francine
