Call me Poetry
Call me poetry
I am a whispered dance
of words that leap and twirl by chance
Through meadows made of metaphor
And forests never seen before
I am the rhythm in your veins.
Call me poetry
The steady drumbeat of the rains
The silence between lightning strikes
The wheel that turns as darkness consumes light .
Call me poetry
Across the canvas of your mind
I leave my footprints there behind.
Call me poetry
Like constellations in the night
That guide lost sailors to lands beyond their sight.
So read me slow and read me well
For in these lines great secrets dwell
and when you think you know my name
I'll shift again, yet stay the same.
Call me poetry
As you say my name
I river flow words without refrain
The way creativity stimulates the brain
The way a forest grows when it feels the rain
The way passengers move when they take the train
The way a mother soothes her child when the child is in pain.
The way time moves forward never stays the same.
Just FYI I have been called many things
I wear many hats and where many rings
Down to earth I just like fancy things
But at the end of the day..
There is one thing that remains
When it comes to knowing me
Call me poetry.
