Call

When the walls are closing in those times you're afraid to begin Call upon your Saviour's name He'll take away your hurt and shame If the world is right and rosy when you're happy and so cosy Call upon your Saviour's name for no two days will be the same All the things your heart requires Trials, tribulations, fires Everything that happens nurtures your story there within His verses Even when the world seems cruel If you are forced to play the fool He offers you a listening ear Take comfort know that he is near All your days upon the the earth Even before the day of your birth He has held you within his hand To guide you to the promised land Yes He is strong but oh so gentle He is the storm and flower petal Closer than your every breath For you no curse or fear of death Sit and ponder for a while within the moment feel Him smile He calls upon you by your name forgives your sin removes all shame

Hi Richard: An endearing poem of faith. Especially at my age when I struggle with my memory He's always there when it counts so I can remember. I can feel him smiling .

Hi Richard, a very moving spiritual poem. Your poem's rhythm and rhyme are lyrical and the message inspirational. Your sixth stanza is pure poetic bliss but the whole poem is heavenly kissed. I truly enjoyed this poem this evening! :)

Your strong faith is one of the many facets of your work that endears you as a poet to me. Bless you, dear. It's normal that when one's been away, the visits dwindle. However, one is never forgotten...not someone like you, anyway. Hugs

There's no better feeling than to have a clean conscience and to be able to call God, a friend. He listens and knows our needs better we do. Your couplets are wonderful, Richard.

Very nice Richard. I especially like that 6th stanza. "He is the storm and the flower petal" A nice juxtaposition there!
